Normally I would be posting Bank It Or Bin It, but I decided to make that a fortnightly edition, in favour of showcasing one of my greatest loves – judging book covers harshly. And if it works right, you can join in too! I’ve included a poll under every set of covers and you can join in and pick your favourites.
UK is on the left, US is on the right.
Disclaimers:
– I used random.org to pick a random year between 2005-2020. I did try from 2000 but back then covers weren’t uploaded online in high quality like they are now.
– Covers may not be from 2002, but the publishing year should be.
– If any of this is wrong, blame Goodreads pls.
– If any of this doesn’t work, blame Crowdsignal pls.
Voting closes on the 18th July!

They’re very similar covers, but the US cover with it’s green texture is gorgeous.

I know the UK doesn’t look like the fantasy that it is, but I can’t cope with the photoshopped gold antlers I’m sorry!

It’s not a perfect cover, but very eye catching. I feel like the US cover has weird amounts of empty space.

The UK bird looks headless and I find that disturbing.

I love the colours and the other cover is staring at me, I hate that.

The UK cover looks like an ARC to me, it’s just too simple.

It’s an instantly recognisable cover, very eye catching and unusual.

I feel like pictures of legs are a little overdone in YA contemporary.

If I had a pound for every historical cover that featured a woman running down a dark cobblestone alley I could start my own publishing house.

Which was your favourite cover overall? I love the US cover of What I Thought Was True.

I love the UK cover for Her Dark Curiosity – I haven’t read the book, but the cover looks good.

Me either, but I’m tempted by the cover alone!

Ooh I love voting for covers. 🙂 Fun. The Throne of Glass one was tough for me- i like both but eventually went with the UK one. I’m the only one picking that one so far apparently lol! I definitely like the US version of Perfect Lies.

This was so much fun! I think my favorite cover here is the US version or Her Dark Curiosity. Or maybe Don’t Look Back.
