The UK cover looks Middle Grade to me, not Young Adult. Whereas black / red / thorns is always a winning combination.

I voted UK for the first book, which was very different to this bland knife / petals photoshoot. Not a fan.

I love this cover so much, it’s so simple but so good, it makes me keep looking at it to see the hidden city street in the background.

I love the outfit the girl is wearing and that combined with her face paint makes me want know everything about her.

There is a problem in UK books of the cover looking like it’s being marketed to a much younger audience. There is nothing about this horse head, burn book monstrosity that makes me want to read it.
Anyway the US is great, love the big font. 😂

Before you hit that UK button, have a look at this.

No contest, I’ve loved the US cover for years. There’s something about it I find really interesting.

I’ve always found the UK cover confusing, because the title is just shoved in a little circle that’s barely noticable.

Neither cover is perfect, but I like the US cover more.

I nearly picked neither, because the UK cover is really ugly and the silver paint looks really weird to me BUT it does make me want to read the book to find out why she’s painted silver.

Which was your favourite cover overall? I love the US cover of This Savage Song!

  1. Half the time I hate UK covers and half the time I just want to adopt them over the US covers. I especially hate the Heartless and My Lady Jane covers though… I just feel they’re too busy in addition to some of them being catered to a middle grade audience rather than a young adult audience (but mainly the busyness).
