It’s Top Ten Tuesday! However this blogger does not have the energy for a whole ten things so we’re just going to do six and call it a day.

Mads Mikkelsen
Valhalla Rising A Royal Affair Hannibal Charlie Countryman
If you know me at all, you know that I am a little bit obsessed with Mads Mikkelsen, I find him visually fascinating to look at and his acting is breath-taking. He has an ability to write a whole scene with the slightest twitch of his mouth, and his skill is unmatched.
Tilda Swinton
Snowpiercer Cannes Red Carpet I think? Orlando Constantine
Tilda’s role in Snowpiercer is like if you took Professor Trelawny, Delores Umbridge and Effie Trinket, mashed them into one person and that still would quite hit the level of insane she got for this character. Absolutely batshit crazy and a total scene stealer in a cast that included Captain America, Billy Elliot and John Hurt.
Alan Rickman
Sense & Sensibility (him in this movie I just… watch it) Mesmer Die Hard Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves
I’m currently on what I call an Alan Rickman kick, which involves watching some of the worst TV Movies from the 90s, including the one where he played Rasputin. As someone on Letterboxd described it, the ’96 Rasputin TV Movie was just Alan being horny and feral for an hour. I’m sincerely hoping Mesmer is the same…
Anya Taylor-Joy
The New Mutants Dinner & Diatribes The Queen’s Gambit Peaky Blinders
I first noticed Anya in The Miniaturist, but she really caught my attention in Hozier’s music video, Dinner & Diatribes. She can wear any hair and act any roles, and I am so excited to see what she’ll be doing in the future, she’s gonna rule the world.
Benedict Cumberbatch
Sherlock Spider-Man No Way Home The Power Of The Dog The Hollow Crown
I recently learnt that Ben once punched a paparazzi in the face because they were rude about Keira Knightley, and I stan that. He’s a total goofball despite seeming extremely serious in his roles, so it took me a while to really ‘get’ him.
Ben Whishaw
The Hollow Crown Perfume Queers: The Man On The Platform Bond Franchise (Q)
The most notable thing about Ben Whishaw (apart from the fact that he looks like that and keeps getting cast in straight roles) is his voice. Holy shit, the voice. You can hear him narrating The Hollow Crown here. There’s a quiet musicality to his voice that I have never heard anywhere else, and I often replicate it in my head when I’m reading.

alan rickman is amazing!
