Weekly Reading

Weekly Reading Update // 9th October

I’ve hit a bit of a reading slump this September, so I’m hoping to pick it up a bit in October. I’ve also not been posting many reviews lately, so I want to get more posted this month.

Physical TBR Count
(Accountability tracker as I’m trying to get this down to 100!)
Last Week: 339
This Week: 340

I had a slight *moment* where I accidentally bought 6 books in a sale, and my Paper Orange sub is due any minute now too so next week is going to be even worse. I need someone to physically stop me at this point. This week’s new addition is Sixteen Souls, the new Rosie Talbot book who you may have seen around TikTok!

Read This Week

  • Timberdark by Darren Charlton (Wranglestone #2) // ⭐⭐⭐ // I sort of understood the message that this story was trying to convey, but I felt like a lot of the actual heart racing, page turning horror was lost in this book.
  • Running Out of Time by Simon Fox // ⭐⭐⭐ // Had this book been slower to finish, I may have considered not finishing it at all, as the combination of over the top action with the realistic, emotional story clashed badly.

Currently Reading

I’m nearly 200 pages into Pride & Prejudice and while it is a slog, it’s really interesting too. The highlight of my week has been starting The Getaway, which is a dystopian horror mix of Disneyland, Truman Show and Stepford Wives.

What have you been reading this week? Let me know in the comments!
